I am starting a Chart on a Sony Vegas Test.

If there already is one then, link me to it. But if not here is a test. Its mostly GPU bound. It is the Sony Vegas 11 test but since then it has been removed from their website. I managed to still have a copy of it.

All you have to do is click Render As and then XDCAM EX. 1920 x 1080 - 60i. I have a screen shot of the render settings.

Once your finished input your results into the Google Spreadsheet.

This should take less than a minute.

If you do not have sony vegas there is a trial you can run from here.

Just BTW, I wouldn't leave a spreadsheet public to edit, as it could lead to people spamming and stuff... maybe leave it at view only...

So thanks for reading guys, if this post sucked, I'm not sure what you can do, but if you liked it, go 'head and hit that like button, or maybe add me as a friend. Doing this test RN, and it's using less than 5% GPU so it's pretty fair to say this isn't GPU bound.

I am not sure how to make it so that they can add data but not delete any.

It should work, but I believe it uses OpenCL to accelerate the effects.

GPU acceleration is only used for a few specific things in Vegas.

Also I'm not sure what value that specific exporting format and interlaced footage (which should never be used) really has, lol.

This is true. That's why the test footage has a bunch of effects, flares, and overlays.

I am not sure why the Nvidia GPUs are not kicking in.

The main format of the XDCAM EX is so that, there would be low CPU overhead

Heres what I got from the Benchmark page

"Our 3rd compute benchmark is Sony Vegas Pro 12, an OpenGL and OpenCL video editing and authoring package. Vegas can use GPUs in a few different ways, the primary uses being to accelerate the video effects and compositing process itself, and in the video encoding step. With video encoding being increasingly offloaded to dedicated DSPs these days we’re focusing on the editing and compositing process, rendering to a low CPU overhead format (XDCAM EX). This specific test comes from Sony, and measures how long it takes to render a video."
