SSD Brand?

Go to solution Solved by ToeJullar,

Alright, bought a 120 GB Samsung 850 EVO.  Thanks for the input

Does SSD Brand really affect anything in an SSD.  I know the main differences in reliability and longevity as far as HDD with WD, Seagate, HGST, etc.  But for SolidState it's all vague to me.

I'm planning on upgrading my laptop 5400 rpm slow piece of Sh** drive with most likely a 120 GB SSD and an external 1 TB HardDrive.

On my desktop I bought a Kingston 240GB and have had no complaints.  So I may very well go with another kingston.  I just want to know if going with someone like Samsung, Intel, Sandisk, PNY, or Crucial are worth the added cost.

TL;DR
Does SSD Brand change anything?

Pretty much anything is good, except Kingston V300's. They slow down drastically overtime.
