Long story short, im trying to get early Boxing Day sales (its a Canadian thing) and ive come across the EVGA GTX 970 ACX 2.0 GPU and was wondering if this model has known issues.

If anyone could give any advise or help, it would be appreciated.

I will also take no comments as an all clear.

You'd be better off with a R9 390.

However to answer your question, no there aren't any issues with that card. In the event that there is an issue, I've heard that EVGA has one of the best GPU customer service.

Depends on the price... If he gets a 970 low priced, it will beat the 390 price/performance. The only noticeble problem is random coilwhine - nothing you should worry about - and it depends on each card, not all have it.

Planning on trying StarCitizen (Highly recommended)? STAR-NR5P-CJFR is my referal link

EVGA has the best customer service for nVidia board partner, they´re unmatched. The GTX970 ACX 2.0 is a good GPU, if the price is right and you need some 1080p power, it´s a rock solid choice.
