Elder Scrolls Online Crashing

I just got the game during the winter sale and downloaded and updated everything but when im in the character creation screen the game crashes all the time i have done repair and it doesn't do anything at all even steam verify integrity which just deletes the game and had me do everything again and still get crashes. im using Windows 10 right now and have a gtx 770 and core i7 4770k and 8gb ram. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Have you tried NOT using Steam.  That may be the factor.

Correct.  Once you have an account with ZeniMax, you don't need Steam.  Given the problems they are having, you might want to download it from Zeni directly and cut Steam out of the equation.  The game scans your system to use as a digital "fingerprint."  Since there is a problem with Steam right now, that may be a factor.

ok trying that but now its downloading even slower than when it was thru steam sadly so i wont be able to play till tomorrow
