hey,

so here's a topic of me telling exactly what i'm planning: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/512619-corsair-hg10-on-evga-970-cs-acx-20-lets-find-out/

so my original plan was to get a smaller fan to blow over the vrm's of my evga 970 SC.

but will these little heatsinks from enzotech be enough cooling for the vrm's without a fan blowing on them? or would you recommend to get a smaller fan anyways?

i don't know how much cooling these vrm's need on a gtx 970 SC.

the HG10 is supposed to directly contact those for cooling and use the reference fan

with your EVGA card you will only need those heatsinks if you have to mod the HG10 so much that you completely cut through the aluminum so that the VRMs no longer contact it

a small fan will be enough to cool it, or even good case airflow could be enough

tbh the kraken G10 would be far easier to use and you wouldnt have to do any mods, it just works

so you're saying get a kraken g10 and put the little heatsinks on the vrm's?

because the fan on the G10 is on the wrong side for the vrm's for my model 970.

edit: and can i still use my backplate with that g10 little back platE?

the g10 doesnt touch the PCB so you can easily put heatsinks on the vrm and vram, and the g10 fan cools it well

but no you cant use your evga backplate afaik

i can make a cutout in my current backplate tho.

but you sure the g10 will fit on the evga 970 SC acx2,0? because in that case i wont got for the corsair one
