Windows 7 Key

Hello there, around 4 years ago I bought Windows 7 SP1 on disk with a code, now whenever I build a pc for someone I use the disk and code and it will always work, this has been about 6-7 times now, however about a year ago I put the key into my sisters laptop as I updated it to Win7 from Vista and the key wouldn't work, at the time I used a *legal* method to fix it but it stopped working and the key will not working, and I was wondering if anyone knows why? Considering on any desktop pc I have built the key works fine (My sisters PC is also a laptop)

Sometimes if its an OEM licence if rejects the activation, if that's the issue to call the phone number and follow the instructions, I've only ever need to speak to someone once and they just ask how many systems its installed on and what hardware you change

Yeah but the thing is, the key was only supposed to be for 3 pc's, but I've used it on around 9 PC's now...

on 9 at the same time? or just one?

 

If its just one just call them, ive never had an issue i used XP on like 15 different upgrades lol

the key will only work for a specific version of windows

if windows on that laptop was different, such as pro, or 32 bit, or something else, the key will not work

you need to do a full clean install
