This post makes no sense, all the internet is is the connection from computer to computer, it's basically an extension of your lan cable to  a hub that connects everyone else while your browser allows you to share this info, it depends solely on the site owner and individual if they want stuff encrypted or not.

internet 2.0 isn't a thing.

I think he meant a web 2.0 in this case.

As in a do-over on the current WWW

When 4k becomes the standard, I can see the internet having to make a massive change to accommodate the amount of data and allowing people to access it without having an insane internet connection. Hopefully, there will be some sort of privacy features where it's much harder to 'spy' on people. Until then, I don't see a possibility of the internet changing much because it would cost way too much and the government won't pay for it due to them wanting to watch what we're doing.

Until 4k becomes mainstream, I think that the series of tubes will stay pretty much the same.

Setting a restriction on minimum internet speeds, no, that might not be the best idea... I'd never be allowed to connect

Think that should be something ISPs are forced to provide as a minimum, not a minimum to be able to use the Internet. Something like 15/5 Mbps Up/Down. That way, everyone gets at least that speed.
