3.5mm plug bent, now right driver won't play.

So while moving my PC, my cord got caught, and the 3.5mm plug for my 700X bent.  I put it back to a normal position, but now the right driver no longer works.  Is there an effective way to repair the plug, or will I have to purchase a new pair of headphones?

I'm not sure if it would work but you could just snap the cable from the plug strip it and solder it into a new plug.

I was expecting to have to do that, yea.  Well, unfortunately it will have to wait until tomorrow as everything today is closed.

Totally agree with above, that's the way to do it. If you're new to soldering, even go to a 1/4" plug and adapt (if you're like me and never really move your headphones).

To see if there was any damage to the cable in between, take a paperclip and an AAA or AA battery to the end of it. Should hear a sound as you make the connection.

Tip is left, middle is right, top (closest to the cable) is ground.

I have one last question, I got the plug back to a normal position.  I am still assuming, however, that cables inside are no longer making contact (because the right driver resumes working with fidgeting).  If I take it apart and resolder without a new plug, would that still be fine, or will the original bend (despite being bent back) make it unsuitable for use now?
