Setting up your new SSD or HDD in Windows [for those who need help]

KraftDinner

This is for people who need help setting up their new SSD / HDD, I've answered this question 4 times in the past 24 hours so I thought I'd make it simple with this thread.

Before you begin:

Ensure that your hardware is installed correctly, this is very simple, plug the SATA cable into your new SSD/HDD as well as into the motherboard. Connect a power cable to the new SSD/HDD as well. Close the case and finish up the installation by watching the video linked below:

ATTENTION:

If your new SSD or HDD is the only drive in your computer and you want to install an operating system on it you will have to create a bootable USB drive with the correct ISO file, you must then boot off of that USB drive and follow the installation instructions, it'll be straight forward from there.

Please ask any questions an I'll answer them below.

This thread will get buried so hard.

People are illogical, and will continue to ask the same question without googling it.

True.  OP, put a link in your sig so it gets shown around :)

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.
