So I was reading on how drivers and file system data/registries get corrupted and someone mentioned that uninstalling software in the wrong manner is a possible cause as it doesn't properly fix up the registry. My question, does installing AVG, failing to uninstall it via CP, deleting the files I could find in safe mode and THEN running the removal tool which fails count as improper use and could potentially cause issues in 3-4 weeks time from that event? Hypothetically xD

If the file system gets messed up, it happens instantly usually.

However ther migth be still some hidden files you haven't / can't delete. You may have wasted a few MB of storage space but nothing to worry.

And you should have backups of critical data anyway ;)

Asking since I got 2 BSODs upon bootup and shutdown with a week in between and the first was a NTFS the second a CLFS.SYS (thread exception not handled). HDD is fine as well as RAM. Reinstalled the OS

It tries to fix the errors it finds, so it should be fine now.

I see. Reinstall should have fixed it? I mean, if RAM were the issue I doubt I'd be able to max out RAM and play 1-2 hours of CS:GO then continue to run fine all day. Nor would it complete a pass of memtest

I don't think the RAM is the problem.

When you reinstalled the OS, did you wipe the disk or did you just reinstalled it on top of the old one?
