Posted December 24, 2015 I recently made a post on here about a basic overclocking build, I don't really see the need the post the link to said post but just wanted to give the reason as to why I'm posting this one, but I'm very unsure about the motherboard I have chosen. Can't exactly go over $100 for this motherboard so I've just kind of chosen some motherboards from pcpartpicker and I would like to know which is the best motherbaord out of the bunch. The motherboard will have a i5 4690k with a Cryorig H7 Cooler (Possibly something a little better if budget allows in the end) and the overclock goal is 4GHz at nothing more than 75-80C. Thank you for helping me decide on which motherboard to choose. This build is for a friend who can't exactly afford the best or to replace parts so I'm trying to find him the best for the budget he has. http://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-motherboard-z97pcmate http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asrock-motherboard-z97anniversary http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-motherboard-gaz97hd3 http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asrock-motherboard-z97killer Gaming Desktop - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X, MSI MPG B550 Gaming Plus, 32GB Cosair Vengenace LP 3600mhz, EVGA RTX 3070 XC3 Ultra, Sabrent Rocket 4 1TB NVME SSD, Crucial P3 4TB NVME SSD, 4TB Mass storage, EVGA 750W G2, NZXT H9 Flow Link to comment https://linustechtips.com/topic/511773-budget-z97-mobo-for-basic-overclocking/ Share on other sites
 Posted December 24, 2015 I would go for the MSI PC Mate board. All of them are pretty good though. Posted December 24, 2015 I would go with asrock as most of overclocking record is held by asrock motherboards. Magical Pineapples
