Note Taking

Gregrs

Like some people, I have a hard time keeping my notes organized. Whether that be for math, English, or whatever. I always find myself flipping through my notebook trying to find a certain lesson or example; but when I do find the page I'm looking for, it takes me a second or two to actually find what I'm looking for.

My notes are messy in both aspects. Unorganized, and usually just a mess of random sentences that kind of make sense, but only if you were there to hear the lecture. To a random person, the notes would basically make no sense at all.

Regardless, I'm in need of some assistance. Could you guys possibly give me some tips on keeping my notes clean and organized?

type it

Teachers don't allow you to bring laptops to class. Even if I were to write it, then type it up, that still doesn't fix the issue of my notes needing to be less messy.

For me it's one copy per subject (helps enormously) use titles on top of pages as best as possible and highlighters help too (but mostly for handouts in my opinion ). Also I like writing out an example On the board and adding additional side notes to it as the subject gets more in depth.

May not work for you, but hopefully you'll get some ideas.

(Oh also all the diagrams).

Bleigh!  Ever hear of AC series?

when my teachers dont allow me to take electronics i have a binder and organize it with dividers, then i have one page at that lists what each section contains with a page number. then its only a matter of going to said page.

Please Quote so i know you have replied. | If we have provided a solution to your problem mark it with answer found.

And also please read the COC and avoid the embarrassment and lecture that will ensue.

My notes are very organized. I only write on the right page and do examples on the left and then I put labels and bulleted lists for those kind of notes, and then I never look at them again, because I'm one of the people that everyone hates because I get "A's" without studying.

I used sketch books to take notes on.  One per subject.  Didn't like lines on the paper...felt constricting.   Still use unlined paper today.

I stopped taking notes though junior year. Realized the textbook was better and studied off that.  Also never did any textbook homework either without the solutions manual.  I don't do things like normal people do things, so buyer beware on my strategies :)

I never actually study through notes. The only reason I do them is because the teachers always check to make sure you've done them.
