my friend is thinking of selling loop. I am interested in it but i know he has a amd 8350 i have a i5 so im trying to figure out what block this is to buy the mounts for my cpu. Could any of your fine ladies and gentlemen help me identify it.

2x 290x is worth that alone! Waterloops add up fast, trust me I know lol I spent around $200 on fittings alone for mine. You should snap his hand off

I have no idea what the block is, but it looks like it could be a swiftech or XSPC. That loop is mad busy. 

 

$550 for the lot is a bargin. I spent probably $500-600 NZD on my waterloop without GPU blocks.

Swiftech is great, the OEM so many closed loop coolers it's crazy. Corsair, Cooler Master, even NZXT all use Swiftech.

those are not made by swiftec...they are made by asetek and coolit, which are FAR better quality than the swiftech "expandable" AiOs

they use fairly low quality parts from china

their "expandable" AiOs have a high failure rate, and several leaks already

the problem is mostly the matterials they use to save on cost

that is how they can make a tiny custom loop for $150

 

the EK predator which uses proper quality parts costs $250+

and even then its not the best watercooling parts available...

well then if it says alphacool then it must be an alphacool block

 

if its discontinued though they you will have a hard time finding the mounting hardware...

Yep, even if the block is turd, you can pick up and EK Supremecy and add it to that loop. Your friend is really giving you a bargain there for a full loop, 2x 290x and a PSU.

 

In perspective (ok mine is dual loop) I spent around £600 - £700 on watercooling components alone for my system and that's including the sponsorship I got. It would be £800 without that probably more. add to that 2x 970gtx at £500 and £100 for my PSU that's £1300 (around $2000).

well i mean if the current block doesnt work and i cant find mounts i figured id sub it in for the time being. So for 550 you think the case and all thats a good idea?

absolutely. You could sell you H100 and it would prob cover the cost of an EK Supremecy, theyre quite cheap

well id be going from my 970 to the 2 290xs and jumping from my h440 to the phantom ( my stuffs going to a diffrent freind if I decide to do it)
