390 is very similar to 290x in performance, but will do better at higher res due to the 8gb

Assuming they are the same price i would go with the 290X...otherwise i would get the cheapest if it's more than 25$ extra.

The 290x will be the better card but if the 390 is cheaper get it.

in my country r9 390 its around 331€ because its on christmas sale and the 290x from vapor-x its 464€. its a huge difference of money here,

and why you prefer 290x? 290x have hawaii gpu (older) and 390 have Grenada Pro Gpu . and grenada pro its better than hawaii

No, the Grenada is a refreshed Hawaii. The 290x has more shader cores, and has better VRM cooling because of it being a Vaporx. Massively better VRM cooling. The 290x will also suffer less stuttering in game, a problem of the 390.

But none of that is worth the price difference. I'd get the 390.

If anyone asks you never saw me.
