would 2x asus strix gtx970 in sli be good for surround setup?

Go to solution Solved by beach_boy98,

The VRAM will be an issue so like the people above me said grab a 980ti will the possibility of getting two in the future.

i am going to build a surround productivity + gaming setup but i just wanted to be sure before that i wanted to sought my queries out !

First question: should i go for a g-sync monitor or 3x BenQ 27 inch  - GW2760HS Monitor?

Second question: By going for G-sync , 3 display ports will be required but a combined strix card will have only 2 display ports and also i do not want to go for triple sli so should i buy 2x gigabyte g1 gtx 970 as each one of them has 3 display ports? will it be good in terms of performance and life?

Hope anybody can help! ASAP!

Well, if you're going to triple monitor game, idk how well 3.5GB of VRAM will do for 3 displays. You'd probably be better with a single card solution. Perhaps a 980ti :)

Always single GPU over multiple, but then I wouldn't go Nvidia with the likes of the 380x out, that 8GB buffer will help a lot for pushing massive resolutions and the HBM will help also.

But seeing as you said G-Sync, a 980Ti would be better, maybe 2 if you can stretch that budget, if not 1.
