First smartphone

Looking for smartphone recommendations.

 

Has to be usable on Verizon

Preferably under $300

Don't want a giant screen

If android, preferably getting marshmallow eventually

1080p is plenty, even less is probably fine

Don't need a ton of performance

Being able to last a couple days or more would be cool

 

I've never owned an apple device other than an old ipod classic that I put rockbox on anyway

I have a remix os (android 5.0 basically) tablet.

OnePlus One? not too sure this will last you a couple of days tough, but it has a pretty large battery.

Nexus 5x is very good. Already has 6.0.
