Crimson 15.12

Go to solution Solved by dragoon20005,

use DDU to remove the beta drivers

boot to safe mode

run the installer for 15.12

I have currently installed Crimson 15.11, this is my first time updating crimson so I want to make sure I wont cause my PC problems.

I already downloaded Crimson 15.12 on AMD's website.

Now my questions are..

Is it okay to just the run the exe file Crimson 15.12?

Or should I do something 1st before that? Should I uninstall 15.11 1st?

Sorry for posting simple stuff like this, I just dont want to cause problems. Because often times I see people posting online having problems with their drivers.

As they say prevention is better than cure. Hehe.

Thanks guys!

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

just to mention with all the nvidia driver hate lately:

yes, amd has been getting better, but ever since i've had nvidia this process has literally been "click update" for me, get your shit right AMD.

on topic: i'm not sure if they improved it with the crimson drivers, but back with ccc i had to uninstall the old driver, reboot, install the new driver, reboot.

What's DDU and is it a big file? I mean cant I uninstall it w/o using software?

Will it be okay? Coz it's kinda scary. I've read stories like the old drivers haunting your PC. Lol.

Should I do it on the new drivers as well? Like uninstall old then reboot then install new and reboot again? >.<  Reboot 100x. Hehe.

Since Crimson 15.11 is a problematic one, better do a clean install with DDU. http://www.wagnardmobile.com

i honestly dont understand why rebooting is still a thing, updating nvidia drivers without a reboot works a treat.

I'll take my time spending few mins rebooting repeatedly than spending hours exterminating the trails of a ghost driver haunting the PC. Lol.

I hope AMD fixes their update installation. There should be an update button on their software for automatic update. >.<

Anyway guys thanks a lot. I love this community very helpful.
