I just bought a second display, plugged it in and it turned on just fine. I plugged the new one into hdmi and the old into the dvi on my gpu (stupid 750ti only has one hdmi) and the old one says no input. Do I need some sort of software? what should I do?

Make sure in display settings it's detected and enable it so that you can extend onto that monitor.

If your running Windows 10 they set it up as both I don't believe there is a way to only have one, Windows 7 previously only gave one and no option to add more.
