Toshiba HDD death?

Tweakforce_LG

Ok i have a HP Probook 6730b with a Toshiba MK1652GSX 160gb. Its been used from 2012-late 2014 for school and now is used as overnight sevalance. On Hard Disk Sentinental it says its 100% performance with 48% health. It has a massive amount of data transfer errors and recommends i check the cables, but its a laptop. Im in the middle of running a disk surface check and so far at 50% all good sectors (don't jinx it). Below ive attached the picture of health and error message. Is my hdd really on its way out, has it only got 274 days to live like it says?713c9fa92b0106362287dc35edf62c67.jpg

It's probably dying, I've heard some bad things about Toshiba hard drives in the past. Make a backup and get another hard drive to replace it ( or an ssd )

ps: do not get a seagate or toshiba again (unless you checked and made sure it's a good model), western digital has lower overall failure rates.

Seagate has insane models that have a 28% annual failure rate :(

My new laptop has a toshiba one too but it think its a good model. Read test came back with 0 bad sectors out of 10000 total sectors. So what could be the cause of the data transfer errors being reported (i have no issue using the hdd) if the platter surface is perfect

And there's nothing important on it as its just for sevalance so ill run it till it kicks the can in about a years time and then replace it and re setup sevalance software
