hi im looking to upgrade my processor but i dont know what processor is better then the one i have now and i dont want to buy a new motherboard 

my current processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 @ 2.40GHz

my motherboard: ASUSTeK Computer INC. P5B-Deluxe (LGA 775)

i saw some motherboards which i think will be better but for example the Intel Pentium Extreme Edition 965 

but i dont know for sure and i cant find a place to buy it 

suggestions please?

It makes more sense to upgrade your pc with a new motherboard entirely, but your best bet would be a core 2 quad like the q6600.

How much could you spend on a new mobo / cpu?
