CSGO seems to be really choppy, i am running it at 75hz 1080p maxed, but there are frame drops that make no sense from nowhere, plus latency on servers seems to be inconsistent, there was a small patch downloaded today anyone know what it was?

if you are bellow 150fps you WILL get lag and drops and latency.

Depends on the map, some i average 140-220fps and others can drop as low as 100fps.

Odd, set the launch option "-threads 4"

and enable multi-core rendering as well as drop everything to high and remove AA as a whole

I can't get max usage from my 580 even maxed with 16xQAA it's too powerful for my CPU only in CSGO.

Hmmm, Might be a CPU limitation, CSGO isn't that demanding so with your setup the only thing I can see limiting you is the CPU struggling to keep it when there is quite a bit going on. I would say overclock it but you already have, hmmm, what about temps? Do you have 2 screens so you can monitor what is happening with say CPUz or something?

Could be. Use the launch option to get all 4 cores used and also lower the AA and model detail a bit

yeh, your phenom isn't good enough for stable 200+  :(

Why?

source engine stuff, if you cap cs at 60 it's straight up unplayable.

I'm sorry, I couldn't help it...

100 fps is really painful in cs  :(  not even enough for 128 tick servers, you would get raged at  :(

What i will do is cap my frames to around 120, at least then i am above the 75hz refresh and the sudden tank in frames will be less noticeable.

I didn't mean the heat on your GPU but your CPU and stuff. Is the CPU throttling down then it's going choppy, can you turn off cool n quiet and keep it pinned?

I have gone through a shed load of system tweaking, and now it's running faster than ever.

Phenom II B55? BE 4153.5mhz - 2555mhz NorthBridge - HT Link 2130mhz, 8GB Kingston HyperX Fury Blue 1708mhz OC

That's a crazy OC for a Phenom II and it's solid, i will see if it improved anything in CSGO.
