Why would use a AIO

mine is in the closet in it's box...i didn't liked the constant stress of having it spreading a leak on my 800$ CAD graphics card.

Now my CPU run 5c hotter, but i sleep better at night and my hair stopped turning grey.

That's weird man, if it leak the manufacturer is probably going to pay for the damaged components(at least corsair does that)... it is pretty unlikely going to leak. Get it out of the box and overclock that 4770k to it's limit!

4.2ghz i hit with only 1.18v and i need 1.3v for 4.3ghz so it's not even worth it...+ the air cooler is MUCH quieter.

Only reason I use an AIO is because I have a elite 130 and it's the only high performance option for the space. I wish I could use even like a NH D9L...

I keep seeing too many AIO failures to ever fit one, I'd rather fit an air cooler than an AIO. I build custom loops because they give me more flexibility for radiator space, the more rad space the more efficient you can keep a loop while keeping fan noise down.

what did you set your settings for? I could only ever get mine to 4.8ghz(even at 1.45 V) and it ran stress tests fine but crashed running cinebench.

As for the post, I got an AIO because it was simple, affordable, and lets me overclock safety.

Gaming - Ryzen 9800X3D | 64GB 6400mhz cl30 | 9070 XT

Homelab - many servers...constantly changing.

You shouldn't be worried about that.... it is extremely rare to have a leak and in the unlikely event, the company has to repair all damages.

corsair has a limited liability as all other AIOs have a no damage replacement warranty.

True. It's most likely from Corsair, anyways. I personally don't need a warranty. I can talk my way into almost anything with any company. Still, the AIO is not very prone for failure (unless it's garbage.)

pump noise on idle had the best of me...the cooler i have right now with the fans is dead silent on idle and very quiet under load and my temps are perfectly fine so i'm happy with that...+ my CPU is a poop overclocker and i won't replace it for at least another 2 years...so yeah :P whatever float your boat i guess.

AIO is so worth it. Keeps everything nice and cool while getting the highest OCs you can get on your CPU.

AIO is so worth it. Keeps everything nice and cool while getting the highest OCs you can get on your CPU.

My god it does. When I had 2 GTX 760s in SLI and I overclocked my CPU I got a sold 20 frames more not to mention how much more snappy windows is and boot times. Same with RAM I turned on XMP and in blender and adobe premiere I can really feel it

My god it does. When I had 2 GTX 760s in SLI and I overclocked my CPU I got a sold 20 frames more not to mention how much more snappy windows is and boot times. Same with RAM I turned on XMP and in blender and adobe premiere I can really feel it

placebo effect...even at stock 3.5ghz + boost your CPU is plenty fast your boot times and windows ''snappiness'' are depending on your storage speed and your CPU does not limit dual 760 in SLI in games.

In rendering times, then YES your CPU overclock will shave a few seconds here and there, but a good air cooler will extract that same overclock.

EDIT: lol reading through this again i sound like a person that really don,t like watercooling and even though that's 100% true i went through it and i didnt liked it in the end i understand the ''cool'' factor associated with watercooling components it's just in the end it's SOOOOO not worth it...a good air cooler will do the same for cheaper while being quieter and more reliable and will last forever....that's all :P no hate...it does look cool.

Especially for first gen i5 and i7 like we both use those are so poor at getting rid of heat...the limiting factor is between the IHS and the die...and even with a top end watercooling kit the CPU will have some quite high hot spots and shit...it's just not worth it IMHO like mine as i said can do 4.2ghz@1.18v 100% stable but i need a whooping 1.3v to get 4.3ghz stable...so even when i had my AIO on there which was a 240mm i was still running it at 4.2ghz the extra power consumption alone was not worth it or CPU degradation and shit...only difference was i was running 58c now i'm running 64c...so who care?
