Hey everybody, first time post. I built a pc 2 years ago now thanks to LTT and you guys. Never had an issue until one day I tried to turn on my pc and got an error at boot up "Cpu Fan Error" and also the temps on my CPU are going way up to 90degrees Celcius! I've been turning it off as soon I see the temps up there. I haven't done anything but boot and try a couple quick fixes here and there but nothing is working. I don't keep it on for more than a minute or two in fear of it frying. Please help me!

I have a 4770K on a Asus Maximus VI Gene and its cooled by a H100i.

My guess is the pump (you have the pump plugged into the CPU fan header, right?) is dead.

I've built 3 PC's, but none for myself... In fact, I'm using an iMac that my dad bought for me as my desktop. Awkward...

Please don't say "SSD drive." By doing so, you are literally saying "Solid State Drive Drive" and causing my brain cells to commit suicide. The same applies to HDD (Hard Disk Drive) and PCIe (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express).

Ok, I'm pretty sure I have it plugged in correctly to the cpu_fan, I mean I have been gaming on this PC for 2 years now...but in bios it shows n/a there so idk?

What's best way to be able to check if pump is dead or not?

I'm guessing h100i's don't have 2 year warranty? :(

I thought their warranty was six. Don't quote me on that though.

Current Build: Core i7 4790k @ 4.6, Asus Maximus VII Hero, Corsair Vengeance Pro 2400mhz 8gb (2x4gb), GTX 980ti, NZXT Kraken X61, Fractal Define R5  EVGA Supernova B2 850w, Some 300gb hard drive.

If you want to just make sure it's dead, take you side panel off, put your ear close to the pump, and turn the system on. If your pump is working you should hear a little sloshing as the air in the loop gets diffused throughout it. If it's broken then... you won't hear anything.
