Can I use this extension cord to power a pc?

Go to solution Solved by Peter Vaughan Truslow,

Hey guys so my brothers build is currently using a 2 prong converter to the wall. (but not screwed in so its not really grounded) So I was wondering if I can pick up THIS extension cord to power his PC and two monitors from a outlet from my room. We will be connecting a surge protector to it, then connect the pc and two monitors, would this be sufficient enough to power these things? He has these two generic dell monitors. If specs are required I'll post it. (but I believe his build will only use around 350-380W at max)

Some advice would be nice as I'm not to good with electricity in general. Thanks again.

Tl;Dr : yes

16Ga isn't enough to carry the full 15A a standard wall plug is rated for, but if your total draw is under around 800W, I'd consider it safe.2 monitors and an average build would be in the ballpark of 500 watts at full load, so it would be well within reason
