Ram, SSD, or other?

Go to solution Solved by aguycalledJames,

actually no

the adata has a faster read speed

http://ssd.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Samsung-850-Evo-250GB-vs-Adata-SP550-240GB/2977vsm34248

It is within the margin of error for Sequential Read speed, and has slightly faster write speeds

However, the 850 evo has a faster 4K Read speed, meaning it can read smaller files quicker, meannig faster start-ups + overall usage

I have this ram currently in my system:

Corsair Vengeance 8GB (1x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory (CMZ8GX3M1A1600C10)

My mobo is this: (g1 sniper h6)

I have a western digital blue in my system

i have the choice of either SSD

ADATA USA Premier SP550 240GB 2.5" SATA III Solid State Drive ASP550SS3-240GM-C

http://www.amazon.com/ADATA-USA-Premier-SP550-ASP550SS3-240GM-C/dp/B013J7Q338/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1450464376&sr=1-1&keywords=ADATA+USA+Premier+SP550+240GB+2.5%22+SATA+III+Solid+State+Drive+ASP550SS3-240GM-C

or more ram

which one do i choose?

also what ram would be compatible?

OFF TOPIC: I suggest every poll from now on to have "**CK EA" option instead of "Other"

SSD

if you can afford the extra $13, I suggest going for a samsung 850 evo. having dealt with their support for a broken drive (I mean parts physically broken at no fault of the drive) it's pretty great, and the performance is top notch http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-2-5-Inch-Internal-MZ-75E250B-AM/dp/B00OAJ412U/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1450464670&sr=1-2&keywords=850+evo

Probably a typo, and they meant 6 Megabits interface speed I'm guessing.

i have a question

is this SSD for the desktop or laptop?

SSD's for laptops and desktops are the same, My wife's laptop has a regular drive bay and so it is the same. The other kind of laptop slot is m.2, this is usually in thinner ones as opposed to gaming laptops that are fatter. Those kind are just the bare circuit board without the nice plastic case. they are also more rectangular like gum. the kind you need depends on what they feel like.
