Any kind advice of my new upgrade list?

PingKueh

Hi all,

need some advice if my list of new components are good enough to last me for the next few years.

I would game on this new PC, games like, Dota 2, Battlefield 4, Crysis 2, and ofcause future games that are coming out..

  • Intel® Core™ i5-6500 Quad CPU
  • MSI Z170A Krait Gaming Motherboard
  • Sapphire Nitro R9 380X 4GB OC/ Sapphire Nitro R9 370 4GB OC
  • Corsair Vengeance LPX 2400MHz CL14 (8GB RAM)
  • Cooler Master V650 (650W) 80+ Gold
  • Corsair Air 540

As for the graphic cards between both Sapphire, need advice on these as would i get big difference in performance on the R9 380X over R9 370? As the pricing are kind of big difference.

For storage, i plan to use back my current SSD (Samsung Evo 250GB) and HDD (WD Cavier Black 1TB) as well as my windows which is in SSD.

Thanks in advance :) Kindly help me out

Firstly, get the Z boards only for overclocking CPUs.

The  R9 380x has a significant price to performance gain from the R9 270 and quite alot of improvement.

Also the case you have chosen is expensive, not quite enough to match the internals to call it a fair purchase.

I recommend getting the S340 or the H440 if you prefer looks. Fractal Design has some nice cases too.

You shouldn't get LPX memory for no reason as they are generally more expensive.

For the rest it's great and you should purchase your items either from retail shops or at (http://www.newegg.com/global/sg).

about OC for now you can OC even CPU without unlocked multiplayer (just by blck) on skylake but its fresh technology and only some of vendors annouce such thing.

and i would rather go for i5-6600 non k cuz it is still good CPU and you wont miss that K on front that much

CPU i5 6600k 4,4Ghz , COOLER Dark Rock 3 from BQ, RAM 16 GB of ddr 4 2800MHz from corsair,

 PSU EVGA 750 W GOLD G2, MOBO Msi z170A Gaming M3, CASE NZXT H440 Black/Blue,

GPU Geforce GTX 980 Gigabyte G1 Gaming,

STORAGE 1 SSD Samsung 850 Evo 250 GB and 1 HDD 500GB WD, Windows 8.1.

It really all comes down to pricing then, because even if you overclock Skylake using the BLCK method, it is not guaranteed a good overclock.

If he has some cash and is willing to risk in the silicon lottery, then why not i guess?

To be really honest here, i5 4460 can handle a 980Ti.
