Hi everybody!

My laptop is running really hot! Hot like 90º to 95º while editing and it even touches the 100º once in a while.

I bought a cooling pad, and even though it does cool the outside, the inside still hot as always.

And so i search online for a better option, i end up finding the vacuum coolers...

And my question was, do they really work? What can i expect?

Thank you.

The laptop cpu's are made to run a 100c its fine if there this hot.

No its not :D Not even server parts are made for 100c. One thing I would suggest is cleaning your system and reapplied thermal paste. If that doesn't help check your cpu heatpipe if it transfers the heat

I've tried that already. Regarding cleaning, i didn't check the heatpipe yet, but i'll do that and say something.

Meanwhile i end up buying a cheap vacuum cooler, and actually it is worth it.

I was able to drop the cpu temperature from 89 to 92ºC (today) to around 62 to 74ºC.

That's a very nice difference much more than the cooling pad that i have.

But obviously it's noisy as hell. :) Still at least i'm gonna be able to finish my work.

Thank you.

But did you swap the thermal paste? If the heatpipe is broke it should be very hot near the cpu ant warm or cold near the end of the pipe

the vacuum cleaners tend to gather more dust on the actual cooling system iun the laptop thats why a professional cleaning (by profesional i mean changing the paste, termo pads on the MB and clean the whole thing with compressed air but not an bottle one or canuncks i think one they can destroy some of the components if not used correctly) is better option and it should be done after 2 years from purchase of laptop ;p

Yes, actually i did it twice cause on the first time i use a cheap paste and after that i decide to go back and change it again with a better one.

I didn't check the actual heatpipe but from what i can tell is not the problem, because the exhaust is very hot, and if it was broken that would not happen.

I think the problem is the actual thermal design of the computer.

I'll have to change my pc soon so next time i'll take that in consideration.

Not design is built for 100c apart APPLE. All pc laptops should go max 85c. Down the years that temperature rises and its normal but you should be able to restore it. The reason I mention apple is they are not designed to run 100c but they still keep their fans off until the pc is 85c or more. They call it the quiet mac experience or I would say just a slow death
