Not sure what you're asking here exactly. In what sense could it be bad? There's nothing wrong with swapping cpu. I switched from a 4770k to a 4790k with no issues, and it should be the same for you as long as you're careful and follow instructions.

Not really. The bios should change all previous settings automatically to match your new chip, but checking it again probably couldn't hurt.
