Hello all,

I recently completed my first build of a computer (I haven't built a machine in like 15+ years), and watched a ton of Linus Tech Tip videos, and did a bunch of other research.

I went through the PSU calculators multiple times, but I think I might have under estimated. So, now I'm a bit concerned, and thought I would run it by people with more experience. (THANKS IN ADVANCE!)

At the moment, everything is running perfectly and it's doing great. But I don't want the PSU to suddenly blow up everything either. I couldn't find a way to see how much power I'm actually pulling, so I'm not sure what to do. Does this spec look ok? Should I RMA the current PSU and go with something bigger? I'm just not sure.

Here is the current spec of the system I built:

(Power Supply) Corsair RMx 850W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

Intel Core i7 5960x (Overclocked to 4.0ghz)

Asus X99 Deluxe

Corsair H100i GTX 70.7 (using the 2 140mm Corsair fans that come with it.)

Corsair Dominator Platinum 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR4-3000

Intel 750 Series 1.2TB PCI-E SSD (NVMe)

Samsung 850 250GB EVO SSD (From old machine)

Samsung HD103SJ 1.0TB SATA Drive (From old machine)

EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB Superclocked+ (SC+) ACX 2.0+

Corsair Air 540 ATX Case ( 3 140MM Corsair fans)

Firewire 400 PCIe Card (For Studio sound card) - Plugged in to MOTU 828 mkii (Firewire)

** I also run a TON of USB devices on this machine as it's in a recording studio, so generally 8-10 USB devices always plugged in, but most are not powered via USB. (They also plugin to the wall.) (Not sure if this makes any difference.)

Thanks again in advance!!

Brett

I doubt it will blow up. PSU looks fit for the build.

The 980TI maxes out at around 380W at full load. You'll be fine.
