Hi everyone, my desktop PC has been having this issue ever since I've gotten Windows 10. The video explains and demonstrates all of this, but basically, after waking from sleep, there is a huge delay when you hit the keyboard to life the screen to type in the password. Normally, it should be instantaneous. This happens all the time but occasionally, it actually responds instantly, (1 out of 6 or 7 times). Any help to get around this would be appreciated. PC specs are in my signature but if you need more information, please let me know. Thanks :D

Does it do same with hibernate ? Also try not clicking a button on keyboard, maybe there is something wrong with your keyboard ? Some issue between KB and Win10... Try clicking with mouse pointer. Just click in middle of a screen. I use that always to wake my laptop.

okay, i'll try with the mouse... but when i wake the computer up, the keyboard's backlight lights up instantly too so that tells me the keyboard is activated or at least received power already.

Hmm. Maybe there is some other peripherals that interferes with IO. Try to unplug all other USB devices. Also try with only KB or only mouse. If nothing helps. I think something is wrong either with Windows or MB IO. Did you have this kind of problem with previous Windows? You could also try with hibernate as then PC saves data to the HDD/SSD instead of RAM. Could be a problem with RAM and Win10 compatibility?

Have you messed with USB drivers? Updated KB or mouse drivers/installed software for them? If Windows installed their own USB drivers, try installing the one that you can download from MB/KB/mouse support page. Also BIOS update could maybe help as there could be some fixes to support better Win10/SSDs/RAMs. Nothing else is coming to mind that you could try atm. :/ Update the thread if you find any solution :)

P.S. Did you update/upgrade to Win10 or did you clean install? If you updated there could be left some old registry entries or old drivers that are interfering. If nothing helps you can always try to clean install Win10 from DVD/USB or Settings -> Recovery -> Reset this PC.

I'll try unplugging everything other than the keyboard and mouse, but this never happened on Windows 7, the OS i was previously on. I did not mess with the USB drivers, I do not know how to, but just in case if I somehow did, how do I restore them? Also, I did a FRESH install of Windows 10, so no junk got left behind. The OS is in UEFI, 64 bit and also installed on SSD (Explained and demonstrated in the video)
