My friends and I want to have a LAN party. We plan to play games like CS:GO comp, Guns of Icarus, etc. What I want to know is if 36 Mbps down and 6 Mbps up enough to play these games. There is going to be 5-6 people/computers at the LAN party.

play: yes

update: no

if it's really a "LAN" party then you would have to check everyone's network adapter and your router for the bandwidth

People don't LAN like they used to.

Now they just play online but physically together, rather than literally hooking the computers together.

That's exactly what we plan to do, play online/LAN games in the same room. I want to know if my internet connection can handle 5-6 people playing online games at the same time.

Yeah don't count on 6 mbps being able to carry that. I've been to a few parties that had around the 5-10 mbps and no one played online because we couldn't.

Second this. Download sure is enough. But upload will be under 1mbs per person. You'd want 2mbs per for non-lag gaming.

Yea should be good if your playing online together but it can be harsh when someone starts downloading something and then things will get laggy.
