Portable or Static Gaming?

I was just wondering what preference gamers had to hardware, portable, static or both.

 

For me it's both, because static brings nostalgia of a console in front of the TV, while portable brings gaming on the go

Same, I love sitting at my PC to play amazing games, but I grew up on the sofa, so still play games this way, and While i prefer the PC I still like sofa gaming with a controller (either on PC or console)

 

Also grew up with the OG Gameboy, and still love portable gaming, I even had an N-Gage, played emulators on my PDA at high school, and currently own 3ds, vita and shield etc

 

And I would never be without a gaming laptop!!! gotta play on the road

All things being equal I'd rather play on a portable device so I'd say portable. If an indie game comes out on 3DS and Steam/Wii U I'll generally get the 3DS version just so I can play it on a portable device. It's also one of the reasons why I really like the Wii U. As a gaming device hooked upto your TV it has some great titles but it's not going to blow you away. As a semi-portable gaming device? There's not much that beats it.... especially if you have an AMD GPU.....

I grew up playing games at the couch, but spent a good part of my childhood on handhelds. Still miss the days of carrying around DSs.

I grew up playing on pc, I only played consoles or my handhelds when my friends come over.

 

It's pretty boring playing with your younger brother and just pawning him at every game. So PC and online games it is.

Me too. I love my 3DS, I also have a Vita but I never play it lol

Static for sure. I don't even use my portables on the move. I only ever use them at home.
