How do you Anodize Aluminum? What are the materials needed?

Unless your thinking of doing a large production run I don't recommend doing it yourself, it requires a fair number of heated chemical baths and dyes to get the part ready to accept the coloring into the pores of the metal.

That's titanium, titanium doesn't require dyes to color like aluminum does where chemical are require to etch/open the pores for dye.

This explains it really well here:

Anyone who has been on a show floor would agree. Like moths flying Into a fire they swarm to cameras to show off there ugly ass..... Oh sorry I should probably answer the question but the answer is already given.

Edit: lol you change get the question...

Battery, copper wire and distillate water... I think forgetting something though.

I don't know too much about titanium anodizing, I've looked into aluminum before but from the looks of things as long as you can get the proper concentration of solution and a high voltage power supply for this it seems like even a less work than aluminum with the dyes and heated chemical baths.

Maybe some of the older ones, from my knowledge the new ones are all aluminum, other than that they did use stainless back in the day for the ipods and iphone 4's.

What tech products are made from titanium ever since JayZtwocents showed me orange dominator ram. I wanted to make red

Yeah I saw that that too it looked really slick, well for titanium TBH I don't think anything that is currently on the market is made from titanium they are almost all painted steel or aluminum heatspreads or heatsinks like on motherboards.

Titanium is very expensive in pure form so most products out there is a titanium alloy to give it similar characteristics.

Looks like the only thing I can find is a titanium coated RAM that OCZ used to make:

Didn't see that before hand but yeah that would be a big setback, but those are fairly old set which they don't make anymore.

I am gonna ask My Bio teacher about Anodizing Aluminum.

Personally I've always wanted to try anodizing aluminum parts and things but never had the ability to do so with the lack of materials and tools need for all of that.

oh srry I completely missed your question and just saw it today, but I would say a few hundred dollars to do some parts, others have done it at home before or in their workshop with good results but usually it's best for larger volume or projects where they work with a lot of aluminum.
