Planned Gaming Rig

Go to solution Solved by BrinkGG,

Actually, my budget kinda changed, so I decided to choose a little more expensive CPU, and the motherboard I choose was the cheapest one I could find on Netonnet in Sweden.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/RPBYvK

Also, I will add a 1TB hard drive in the future, but right now I can't really afford it.

Thats better! Welcome to the forum!

Hi! I am planning on building my first gaming computer this year, and I really want to hear your thoughts about it! Also, remember that I'm not a "hardcore gamer" and this is a budget build. Anyway, here's the list:

Case: Fractal Design Core 2500

PSU: EVGA 500W White

Motherboard: Asus Z97-P

CPU: Intel Pentium G3258

GPU: MSI Geforce GTX 750Ti

HDD: Seagate Desktop 1TB

SSD: Intel 535 Series 120GB

So, is there anything that I should replace? Please answer if you have the time! :D

PSU to maybe EVGA Supernova B2 or G2?

CPU to Athlon X4 860K

GPU to Radeon R7 265 or R7 370?

Maybe a cheaper SSD? Intel's are really nice and all but they're way too expensive for what they're worth.

You don't need a Z97 motherboard for the G3258... Then again, you don't really want the G3258 now. Lots of newer games really benefit from 4 logical cores.

I live in Sweden, so my budget is about 7000 Swedish "crowns" (use a money translator) and I am not quite sure what I'm going to play, since this is my first step into PC gaming, but I will probably buy Star Wars Battlefront and some other games.

okay, so I have decided that I will change the SSD to something cheaper (maybe Kingston?), but either GPU or CPU I will probably not change.

No, please not Kingston if it's the V300.

Change the CPU if you're playing modern titles. You won't regret it.

The V300 is a rigged SSD, the controller that was sent out earlier and the controller in the current V300 is crap. The speed isn't really that great.

Crucial MX and BX SSDs are what I recommend for a budget SSD. Munchkins SSDs too.

I don't think you should even consider buying an ssd right now, when you are on a tight budget. Invest that money in GPU instead, for example, GTX 950/960 instead of GTX 750 Ti (don't know if there are better amd choices).

And as somebody already mentioned, you really do need those 4 cores in current AAA titles so I don't think G3258 should be an option unless you're planning to upgrade to i5/i7 in near future.

I am defenetly going to upgrade this PC in the future, so I will go for the G3258

The FX series of CPUs is dead, and AMD is currently in a law suit over them for misrepresentation of products. Long story short, the FX-6300 for example, is really 3 banks of 2 cores each, but each bank of cores share resources inside (each set of 2 cores has some of the same cache and other parts)

Try this, or I can recommend used parts that would do better. (Which I'm starting to recommend for budget builds like this.
