Should I use NTFS or exFAt.

GummyGamer

I got a new hard drive for my computer and I was setting it up and I was prompted with selecting a file system. The two options were NTFS and exFat and I wasn't quite sure which one I should use. Can someone tell which one I should use? Thank you  :)

(I am using Windows 10 64 BIt)

Yes I am using Windows. So I do use NTFS for Windows?

For Windows Vista/7/8/10 NTFS is recommended.

exFat is commonly used for devices such as Flash Drives.

I remember back in the day when M-FAT (now called FAT16) was the HDD format of choice. It was the same time that HDDs were only 4 GBs.

Oh how the times have changed.
