Hello there,

I am scrounging the internet for a worthy power supply to put into my new build with a 4790k and a R9 390.  Many people have said 650w is plenty for the 390. Please help me in deciding which one is best for gaming hours on end with those components.

#1) Seasonic S12G 650W 80+ Gold: https://pcpartpicker.com/part/seasonic-power-supply-s12g650

#2) XFX TS 650W 80+ Gold: https://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power-supply-p1650gts3x

#3) Antex EarthWatts Platinum 650W 80+ Platinum: https://pcpartpicker.com/part/antec-power-supply-ea650platinum

Yes they are all none modular power supplies because that is what has been recommended by all the people I have seen build in the case I will use (Fractal Design Node 304), if you are wondering why, it is because when mounted fan side down the cables will come out on a side that is not interfering with the GPU and modular power supplies have plugs that stick out and may interfere. I am personally leaning toward the Antec Platinum because of the high efficiency rating and how ever much money it could save me in the long run.

Anyway, any help will be greatly appreciated with informing me if any of these are bad, good etc. Also if none of these "work" for any of you I will gladly take any suggestions.

Thank you!

The XFX TS and the Seasonic S12G are better quality PSUs, but the Antec EarthWatt has a efficiency higher rating and a higher cost for a lower quality PSU.

The Antec EarthWatt is still a very good PSU, but it is only a tier 2 PSU compared with the other 2 which are tier 1's.

I'd go with the Seasonic since it is the cheapest out of the 3.

Whichever is cheaper will be fine.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

I'd get the SeaSonic but if you're willing to splurge on yourself a little, I'd go for a Corsair AX1500i. It actually delivers higher wattage than it's rated, and it's an overall beast. Great value, too.

You're telling someone looking at only 650w's to go and get 1500w's?

pretty much this.

something to consider between the two: either the cheaper one, the more quality one (xfx/seasonic), or the more efficient one if your local power cost is an issue.
