70 bucks yea id say thats what an amd cpu is worth...

Yep pretty much, doesn't mean they're bad for that price. I have/had one in my system overclocked to 4.6GHZ and it beats a 4590 in multi-core applications and ran Black Ops 3 and Fallout 4 on Ultra just fine with my R9 290

The fuck out of here with your negativity.

70$ for this cpu is a great deal. Been using the FX 6300 for almost 4 years now and I bought it for 129 back in the day. Works great.

I bought the twin tower hypercooler and oc'd to 4.0 just for fun too, it's a great little chip.

Its not even negativity its the truth. They're absolutely terrible unless you get them for dirt cheap.

No. That's called a over-generalization. Depends on the work the user is needs them for. Are you going to buy a Skylake for your Grandma's PC? No.

I love INTEL and AMD by the way. Sure Intel has 'more powerful' processor's, but for each his own and individual consumer use. And 70$ for the FX 6300 is a great deal until zen if you're on a budget atleast.

No but I wouldn't even get this chip for an old person. APU's exist often for a lot cheaper than any AM3+ chip. You get integrated graphics as well.

Honestly for this price, Intel's pathetic. I bought an Intel i5 4590 off of Jet.com for $145 or so and the AMD is a much better deal. The motherboard I overclocked my FX 6300 went down to $70 and the Hyper 212 evos about what it's always been, for about $160 you can have a chip that overclocks to 4.5 GHZ and outperforms the Intel in multi core applications which most games have good cpu optimization. With the Intel you're paying about that for just the CPU and no aftermarket cooler. The only reason I went with the Intel is because my uncle is super cool and he's selling me a system for $12 more than the retail price of the i5 4590. 8GB of G Skill Ram, Case, 430W power supply, 120GB 850 EVO and an AsRock motherboard.

Pentiums are ok for light use and minor gaming, but a 6 core will be better for multi tasking.

You do realise this CPU is great for anyone trying to make a (really) budget workstation that needs cores/threads?
