Will changing out my CPU affect games?

I need to swap out my CPU for the time being, I know I don't have to re-install Windows, but will this negatively impact performance? Its a 4670K from a 4690K that I was using while waiting for my 4790K. Yes thats a lot of CPUs.

Whilst some games do like their processors (Cities: Skylines, for instance), you will generally get more or less the same performance across all three processors in games.

well, fun fact, the only difference between the 4670k and 4690k is the packaging the chip is in AFAIK.
