XFX has been around for a loooong time, like around the dawn of video cards. Since then companies like MSI and EVGA have really taken over the market, but XFX still makes pretty good quality stuff. I would say that you are getting what you expect, a high end video card from a legendary manufacturer

Yeap there is no reference 390 since amd never made one. But what I'm talking about is the pcb. Xfx follows the reference layout. What they did was slap their own cooler on it.

I can buy a xfx one for $345                but can also buy a g1 gaming 390 non x for $250            which is better value

Nah. Not that dramatic. Its just the worst 390 out there. And they still have the audacity to call it a G1 gaming. The 390 non x version also had shutdown issues where it prevented the PC from shutting down.
