I wouldn't use Furmark as this can break cards as its pushing the card at a load where it isn't really going to achieve on regular application and games. I would also recommend either using Heaven or just game on it in order to see if there are artifacts in the video to see if your gpu is stable.

I use Heaven and Valley from Unigine for testing/benchmark purposes. I also use AMD overdrive and CPUz for monitoring.

Nope, my card can handle furmark@1200mhz but instant crash in every other things.

Furmark is intended to be a stability test

 

However, FURMARK IS USELESS AS A STABILITY TEST

 

Therefore making it completely useless

 

 

I've gotten overclocks on my graphics card that run completely stable on Furmark, but it crashes as soon as I launch a game.  I don't know about it being dangerous for risk of breaking your card, but why risk it if it doesn't do what its intended to do anyway.

for the record, my card didn't throttle down with furmark, it was running at 1246MHz.  But as soon as I launch a game it would crash

For gaming stability try a variety of benchmarks. I can do Heaven benchmark all day long but I crashed in Metro Last Light within 20 mins.

 

What I would normally do:

 

1.5 hours of Unigine Heaven

1.5 hours of Unigine Valley

99 runs of Metro 2033 benchmark

A number of loops on Crysis 1 benchmark
