Good LED Lightstrip for a desk?

I need to know a good LED Kit (something that includes everything I will need to get them working), for my desk setup. I have my computer and monitor on my desk, so I just wanted to make everything a little bit brighter during the night. Since I'm English, Amazon would be preferred (5050 RGB Lights would be good, since I've heard they are brighter)

Thanks! -Croum

i bought my unbranded led strip at a dollar store, works perfectly fine.

Just any led strip/controller/power supply will do the job

I use the Supernight LED's from amazon, and i would definitely reccomend. I have had them for about 2 months and had no issues. They are $20 US right now.

I have 3 of those, they're great but the ir controller fucks up easy. Also, this kit does not include the power cable, so look for one for $20 that includes them, but this is one i highly reccomend for cheap

My controller failed on that lol, but replacement controller/ir receivers are cheap (after 2 years I mean, so it lasted quite a while)

I have these under my desk http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00HSF67H0?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage&tag=linustechtips-21 (Green)

I have these under my kitchen cupboards http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00LX4D1MG?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage&tag=linustechtips-21 (Cold White)

I have these in various places http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00LXZKPWY?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage&tag=linustechtips-21 (RGB)

I also use a remote with the single colour LEDs to dim them http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00CXS2GFO?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage&tag=linustechtips-21

If you only want a fixed colour, and you can find single-colour strips in that colour, I'd recommend them over RGB LEDs, since in my experience they give a better colour and greater brightness. EDIT: I haven't used 5050 LEDs, and apparently they are brighter than the 3028s I've used.

I haven't had any problems with these, except wanting to install more of them! (Yes, I'm addicted to LEDs)
