IP camera out of range

Calavera

Hi guys.

Bought a Hikvision dome security camera.

The problem is however, the IP adress is 192.168.1.66 but my router has an IP range of 192.168.2.X

I tried to reset the camera by holding the (I believe it to be) reset button for 4, 10, 20 seconds, with power on and off, with network cable in or out.

It seems to stay at the IP it came with.

Regardless, I tried to run SADPTool software, it does detect the camera and show it's IP, but when I try to change the default gateway (which is also 192.168.1.1 (also out of range) it gives me an arror "Device rejected"

I cant enable DHCP either, gives that same error.

What can I do?

So many things I could write here... things like this.

You cant change the DG of the cam to that as its on another subnet.

Alright, so I cant change it since it's on another subnet (1 instead of 2, right?) how do I go about to change that?

Can I virtually enable the port so I can change it?

Just use the video to give your cam a free IP in the subnet of 192.168.2.1-254 (.1 will most likely be your DG)

My router is called 192.168.2.254.

What do you mean with DG?

Give the camera

IP: 192.168.2.200

SNM: 255.255.255.0

Default Gateway: 192.168.2.254

see if that gets it working.

It doesn't allow me to.

I did get a few steps ahead though, at first I thought the guy in the video said I had to change my computer's IP to the SAME EXACT IP of the camera, and then plug it in via the ethernet port.

That didn't work, so I figured I'd change the last digit, so from 192.168.1.67 instead of 192.168.1.66.

That worked, now I could access it via my browser since I am on the same subnet now.

One more problem however, the login doesn't like me.

I did the usual Hikvision login:

Nope, and the reset button doesn't work either.
