How much could I sell my PC for?

SkillNye

I have $500 left from a job I just did (I'm 15), but I want to make a rig built for gaming, and streaming. So my plan is I'm going to sell my current PC, and build a totally new one. So what I need help with is, how much could I sell my computer for, and where would I sell it?

Specs:

Intel i5-3570 Processor

ASRock Z75 Pro3 Motherboard

Radeon HD 7870 GPU

16GB DDR3 RAM

1TB Hard Drive

450W PSU

4 Case Fans

And it comes with the case.

I would look around for people selling used components, and gather prices for each part in your system.

Add all of that up and maybe tack on an exta $50 (because people are going to lowball you) and start there.

3570- $150

Z75- $60

7870- $100

Ram- $40

1 TB HD- $40

PSU/Case/Fans- $60

My quick estimate would be around $450. But that is doing very little research,

do some more in depth research and settle on somethin yourself.

And Without knowing anything about you, ie. location, I have no idea how to recommend where to sell it...

Current System Specs:

MOBO: Gigabyte Aorus Ultra Gaming     CPU: Intel i5 9600k      GPU: EVGA GTX 1070 ti FTW Ultra Silent    PSU: EVGA 750 G2 80+ gold

Ram:  16GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro DDR4-3200    Storage: 500 GB Samsung 970 EVO/ 4TB WD Blue Case: Corsair 275R-White

I was thinking about $400

Could anyone possibly build me a $900 rig? Or will the one I have in mind work and not stutter at all streaming CS:GO (mainly) at 720p 60fps

Specs:

AMD FX-8350 8 Core

CoolerMaster Hyper 212 CPU Cooler

Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 Motherboard

I'd say $120 for CPU, $50 for mobo, $100 for GPU, $50 for ram, $20 for PSU depending on brand.

as a full system probably worth $400 if it comes with windows installed clean

snip

Lots of people overprice shit, so you could set it at $50 more than what it's really worth, it'll always be good value looking at the overpriced stuff and it'll prevent lowballs going a little too low.

I'd say try at $475, if not $500.

You could always sell groups of components, for example the CPU, MoBo and RAM in a single bundle, the GPU on it's own, the storage units together and so on.

Sell everything individually, $100 for the CPU, $80 for the GPU, $60 for the motherboard and $10 for the case and fans.

Keep the RAM. Then you won't have to spend money on more. You'll have saved more money by keeping it than you would have by selling it.

You're gonna need that much memory for streaming, anyway.

I don't need a Hard Drive. I have tons of them laying around my house. I'm talking mass amounts of them. Also, I would rather save the $50 and add it to the GPU, and get a 970 or even 980 when I could.

No, Windows 10 is free, I bought Windows 8.1 a while back, and Windows 7 was given to me by my Uncle. So it's legit.

I would love an SSD. But I'd prefer at least 250GB. Like a Kingston or Crucial. Also the i5-4690K would be better, and it's only a few dollars more. Other than that, I like it.

So tell me, I can stream at 720p 60fps with no stutter at all.

You also need a Z97 board. If you want a K series, so you can use the overclocking.

I guess, spending a little lavishly. Could cut some costs down and upgrade to a 980. Sacrifice a small portion of your CPU.

Up to you, your money.

Well I need a good CPU because Streaming is heavily CPU dependent. Or at least from what I hear.

It is.

If there is anyway you could collect a few more dollars though, you'd be in the green for great components all around your system. Generally around 1g is the sweet spot for great PC's in my opinion.

Oh yeah, I do a lot of side jobs making $40/h so it wouldn't be hard for me to earn more. Could you build me a $1300 streaming computer then?
