Metro Last Light GPU Throttleing

Hello guys,

 

I just ran the Metro Last Light Benchmark on my gtx 780 and noticed something really weird. After a few seconds (~100) my gtx 780 lowers the clockspeed from 1032 to around 700mhz, the load goes down to like 50% or less and i only get 5fps. I checked everything, im not hitting any thermal limit or anything else. In all other games/benchmarks it runs perfectly fine just for some reason not in Metro LL. I wanted to check my results again with an overclock (the first run was nearly perfect) but it failed like described above. I set it back to stock speeds and it still fails.

 

Here are my results:

First run

as you can see, the last run just ran 53secs instead of 172

 

Here, after some time the gpu throttles and only gives me 5-10fps. Note that there are only 1,5 graphs because i manually cancelled the benchmark.

 

 

So, can anyone explain to me why that is and how i can change it so that my gtx780 doesnt throttle?

It's likely a driver issue with the game. Nothing you can do if that's the case. It can also be a bug in the game itself.

Yeah, i read that. But the first run was mostly ok and all the runs with my old gtx590 were good too.
