Gaming Monitor for GTX 970 G4G

HalloranATL

Recently purchased a MSI GTX 970 G4G for a new system build, and am now thinking about replacing my display.  Note to all, consider the display first before purchasing a card in system builds...

The primary application is gaming, specifically for titles like Star Wars Battlefront, Fallout 4, WoW, etc.  Budget is pretty open, but currently limited by the card that was selected. May consider eventually replacing this card with something superior, but that's probably a few months/years out at least.

Considering both 1080p and 1440p monitor options, but not sure if it is capable of driving a 1440p display, or something that is 144Hz.  Have considered a ROG SWIFT PC278Q.

Looking for monitor recommendations, and would be particularly interested in feedback from someone that owns this card or something comparable.

Thanks!

A single GTX 970 is capable of 1440p with AA off.  I play games like Dragon Age Inquisition at 1440p Ultra at 55-65 fps with no issues with my GTX 970 G1 Gaming.  Don't expect much more though as that is at 100% use with a mild, non-voltage, overclock.  A GTX 970 is perfect for 1080p though, plenty of horsepower.  You will probably see around 90-110fps with a 970 depending on settings.

I currently use a Benq GW2765HT 1440p@60Hz.  My GW replaced a Benq RL2460HT 1080p@60Hz.

I have no complaints about these monitors as holdovers until I can make the jump to big Pascal and 1440 ultrawide.
