Pump/Res Combo Vibrations?

Go to solution Solved by Enderman,

Cheap is probably better than my swiftech res I currently useuse. The sides are starting to separate...

yeah i know, swiftec watercooling products are not very good quality

thats why you shouldnt buy that crappy reservoir you linked

get something from ek or bitspower, not that much more expensive but definitely worth it

I am thinking about getting this... http://www.performance-pcs.com/swiftech-mcp35x-reservoir-rev-2.html

...to replace my existing res, as it is about to fall apart and leak all over the place, which I would prefer not to happen. I own a swiftech MCP 355 (modded to the lower powered 350) and I currently have it suspended by the tubes to keep the damn thing quiet.

If I were to buy this res, what kind of mounting method should I use? Is is even possible to make the switch to this res without making the PC any louder? The pump is the loudest component in my PC.

Thanks!

the DDC pumps are not that quiet

buy a D5 instead and use some velcro (or double sided foam tape, but this is harder to remove) between the pump mount and your case

Buying a new pump will cost too much. I already own the MCP 350.

how about getting a DDC top and separate reservoir?

if you have to have a pump+res combo then get something from EK or bitspower

Alright, I already have the top, I was just looking for reservoirs and the combos seem cheapest for whatever reason. I will keep looking.

when you build a watercooling loop you dont want to go with "cheap".....

I love EK's build quality, my 390x waterblock is friggin amazing. My phobea CPU block works good enough (bought it used on the classifieds here) I will look for something from them or bitspower.

At this point, might as well get a new pump. Mine just started making a strange noise. Might be the HDD, fans, or something else, but it sounds like the pump. As I am typing, the noise just stopped. Maybe it was the HDD. I dunno. Might as well...
