Before you buy make sure you check this site, you'll see why I recommend the supernova 750 G2 so much.

He doesn't need 750W though, and it is also £20 or so over budget.

I'm not saying he should only buy that, however I did say to check johnny guru before pulling the trigger on any PSU, why? Because they have all the gear to really put the PSUs through their paces.
