Hi!

Just got 16GB of 2400Mhz RAM.

Before I had 8GB on 1333Mhz and it worked fine.

Now that I have the new one in and want to set the speed to 2200 it just doesn't boot and after I hard-reset the PC it shows that the overclock was not successful (Do you have to wait a long time after you save the settings for the PC to start outputting to monitor?)

I even set the profile to XMP Profile#1 but it still doesn't work!

It only works if it's set to max 1600Mhz.

Here's my mobo:

The text is probably written very badly because I'm tired of 3 hours setting and failing.

set it to the 2400XMP profile

then go into your memory settings in the motherboard

Kingston-UEFI-4.jpg

manually change the DRAM voltage from 1.5 to 1.65V then also manually change the timings to the timings of your ram (like 11-13-13-31 or whatever your ram is)

then save and reset

oc ram is basically pointless, just go with what works

Wrong. I use some apps in which faster RAM allows me to process more data than adding another full CPU core, as I'm severely bottleneck on bandwidth. OC is totally worth it in my case.

Though it's unlikely that OP needs it as well, he just might have use for better ram.

For this mobo? Why is then the 2200 option even there?

Not for the mobo, it's the spec from intel, anything above is an overclock and not garanteed, the mobo just has the option there, and some might be able to use it with a good chip, the memory is tested to work at 2400 MHz, the memory controller/cpu is not.
