Best cooling solution.

Cvdasfg

What is the absolute best cooling solution for a CPU for noise and performance? I was looking at bequit stuff are these good?

I currently have a 212 and its just so noisy. Case fans are silent wings 2. Case is tx10. Cooling a non overclocked 5820k

Absolute best? Custom liquid.

Absolute best air? Noctua.

I used to be quite active here.

You could take a Noctua or a Be Quiet! air cooler or go for an AIO watercooling like the Corsair H100i, but it has 2 fans so if you don't overclock, you should go for an air cooler.

noctua?

Arent those very noisy?

Absolute best? Custom liquid.

Absolute best air? Noctua.

Actually I thought about that. But isnt liquid cooling much noisier then air?

on air bequiet for looks and performance, noctua only for performance

ok

I have an h100i in my other computer and its wayyyy to noisy. Hate that thing.

As you didn't put any budget on it I'll just suggest LN2 because you can keep it pretty much passively cooled and have incredible cooling at the same time.

Isn't that liquid nitrogen cooling? kinda wanted to stay on air or a custom soft tubing loop. Dont want anything complicated :P

But thank you for the suggestion :)

LN2 is indeed liquid nitrogen but I already guessed you wanted to stay away from anything complicated, however, if you wanna go full BS you can do something like this and couple it to the CPU in some way:

Keep ur cooler and just replace the fan with a Noctua NFF12.

or go ham and get a Noctua NH-D15.

If you plan to go as silent as possible and you have some coin in your pocket, then you can go custom water passive. The fact that you speak about a 5820K without OCing makes passive an option here. Your TX10 gives you a huger number of possibilities for radiators.

No fans and with a D5 PWM pump very low pump noise (almost not auditable).

It isn´t really hard to go passive as long as you use the right components and don´t plan to put too much in that loop especially GPUs. They just generate too much heat and therefore the radiator surface would get ridiculous.

But dfor a CPU you´d make sure to use a very good CPU cooler with a very tight FPI rate and enough radiator surface to keep the machine going without running into critical temps. Pump is also a very important factor. Tubing not so much because you´d abyway be limited by the smallest ID for your flow rate. Speaking of which you want a variable pump for the right flow rate.

How much rad space do you think I'd need for achieving this? What do you think idle/high temps would be?

I need to do some maths here first. Usually I build high performance custom watercooling for OCing hehe. I can PM you and give you a list of all parts you´d need if you want.

Dark Rock Pro 3 from BeQuiet is pretty cool...yes cool in temps as well.

You can bark like a dog, but that won't make you a dog.

You can act like someone you're not, but that won't change who you are.

Finished Crysis without a discrete GPU,15 FPS average, and a lot of heart

How I plan my builds -

Spoiler

For me I start with the "There's no way I'm not gonna spend $1,000 on a system."

Followed by the "Wow I need to buy the OS for a $100!?"

Then "Let's start with the 'best budget GPU' and 'best budget CPU' that actually fits what I think is my budget."

Realizing my budget is a lot less, I work my way to "I think these new games will run on a cheap ass CPU."

Then end with "The new parts launching next year is probably gonna be better and faster for the same price so I'll just buy next year."

It doesn't have to be. It can be quieter than air, it just depends on what parts you buy.

I guess thats true. My comparison is that I have a h100i which is mega noisy.. Then i bought be quit silent wings 2 fans.. Even with all 10 of them installed at max you can barely here them.

Exactly.

Plus this is also cheaper than the Noctua NH-D15.

I myself am using a CM Hyper 212X  no problems so far, I left it with the PWM header on the motherboard so I haven't heard much coming from it.
