Could i let's say run my main GPU 290x at the top slot and a HD 5450 at the bot slot?

Reason behind this is because it's the only way i can test whether my old hd5450 is still kicking or not

as long as youre on windows 7 it seems to work

I'm on windows 8.1 if it helps!

Yeah, you can do that. But I don't see why you couldn't put the HD5450 in alone.

Hmm but would it screw like the resolution up and all that?

I second that. Is it that much of a inconvenience to take out your 290x?

I don't see how doing this would negatively affect your pc. I run a multi gpu setup with no issues. Just make sure you power supply can handle the extra load.

...or just take out the 290x

My g2 850w should be able to

Planning to take 290x out!

Is my driver able to support my hd5450?

Idw it to mess my desktop up if i changed it to my hd5450 xD

You won't have any problems with two different AMD cards in the same system, after you install it, it should just appear in device manager under Display Adapters. It won't mess anything up at all.

Only time you will have problems is if you have AMD and Nvidia cards in your system, they will work fine if you have the correct drivers installed for both cards but with some software like MSI Afterburner it will not monitor the cards properly unless you have the AMD card as you primary display adapter and your PC has started with the monitor being plugged into the AMD card. That is the only way I have been able to get AMD and Nvidia to work correctly in the same system.
